"Earth's oceans are kind of like the Internet... the deeper you go, the weirder it gets."
The depths of the Monterey Bay in California are home to some truly strange life-forms. Some of these species look like they'd feel right at home on another planet — indeed, we know more about some of our neighbors in the solar system than we do about the dark abyss of the ocean. Now PBS, BBC, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute are teaming up to uncover the secrets of one of the richest ecosystems in the world, in a broadcast called Big Blue Live.
