We've all made snap decisions based on gut feelings at some time or another — but what does scientific research say about the reliability of our intuitions?

Gut feelings vs. analytical thinking: which is better? While it may seem logical that taking time to analyze a situation and weigh the pros and cons would be the best game plan, scientists aren't entirely convinced.

In fact, research published back in March (2016) found that trusting the sudden insights of those 'Aha!' moments actually proved to be more accurate than slow, analytical thought processes.

AsapSCIENCE takes on the question in their latest video episode, delving into different experiments that have similarly shown our gut insticts to be worthy of consideration.
