This horrific case is virtually unheard of in the field of medical science.
Marnie-Rae Harvey, a 17-year-old from the United Kingdom, suffers from a rare and unexplainable medical condition that causes blood to seep from her eyes and ears.
Back in 2013, she saw a doctor after she felt ill and reported coughing up blood, but numerous tests found nothing unexpected or unusual. However, the symptoms worsened and progressed over the years.
This past July, Harvey says she woke up and her pillow was covered in blood that had trickled out from her eye. She tells BBC Newsbeat that her parents called an ambulance, and the paramedics were shocked because they’d never seen anything like it before.

"It burns and then if it covers the pupils of my eye I can't see," she tells BBC Newsbeat. She says her eyes can bleed and cover her face in blood, but then within seconds her eyes return to their normal white state.
Harvey has visited a number of doctors and medical specialists, but none have been able to provide her with a proper diagnosis so far.
Even worse, her condition has recently gotten worse, and she now reports bleeding from her nose, gums, fingernails, tongue, and scalp as well.
As one would expect, the bizarre ailment has taken a serious toll on Harvey’s life. She’s hesitant to go out in public and was unable to attend her GCSE exams at school.
“We’ve confirmed that Marnie does not have a brain tumour or brain AVM — an abnormal collection of blood vessels,” her mother said. “Her blood tests come back clear and healthy, her iron levels are strong. She has no tumours, no blood diseases, and no blood clotting disorders.”
So far, Harvey’s condition remains a mystery in the field of medical science. The only thing that comes close to explaining her symptoms is a condition called “haemolacria,” which causes bleeding from the eyes, but this doesn’t explain all of her other symptoms.
The poor teen has been forced off Facebook due to online bullies spreading rumors that she has blood cancer or Ebola, and she says that kids were taking pictures of her with their phones the last time she was in a hospital waiting room.
Not only does Harvey have to deal with the frustration of having a rare condition that doctors are unable to diagnose, but the cruel treatment from peers and strangers obviously doesn’t serve to help the healing process.
The medical condition is indeed an extremely rare and shocking case to hear about, but hopefully doctors and scientists will soon discover what’s causing the ailment so Harvey will be able to reclaim her life.
